ASCT Presents: Advanced Bodywork Series
Deep Tissue Massage
for the Lower Body
James Earls has been
practicing bodywork for 15
years and has trained in a
variety of approaches.  He is
founder and director of
Ultimate Massage Solutions
and has trained with Tom
Myers, originator of the
Anatomy Trains theory, and
is a registered teacher of his
approach. James has
travelled widely to learn from
some of the top educators in
the field and he now teaches
a range of courses for
schools in Ireland, the UK
and Europe.

He has worked at the World
Triathlon Championships in
Hawaii and been invited to
work with Premiership
football teams, teaching their
sports medicine teams and
working on "problem" players.

He now specialises in
myofascial release and
structural integration to rid
the body of restrictions and
restore the body's natural
postural balance.

Deep Tissue Massage is much more than just a  “hard massage.”
In contrast to only relaxing muscles, the specific lengthening of
fascia, muscles and tendons offers many benefits such as freer
joint movement, quicker injury recovery, and better posture, as
well as feelings of well-being.

In this 3-day workshop we will incorporate BodyReading, based on
the Anatomy Trains
SM theory and the work of Tom Myers, as a
basis to better understand possible causes of common lower body
dysfunctions.

Key anatomical landmarks will be reviewed in combination with
precise Fascial Release Techniques (FRTs) that will allow you to be
specific with your work; focusing on the layers that are creating
difficulties for your clients and cultivating your palpation skills when
working with these deeper layers.

Protocols for treatment of common conditions of the lower body will
be addressed to include:
  • Patellar and Achilles’ tendonitis
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Compartment syndromes, and
  • Shin splints.

The aim of this workshop is to incorporate Deep Tissue Massage
and Remedial Style techniques with Postural Analysis and
Myofascial Exploration in order to find the "structural keys" to
create longer lasting effective work. The more you can see, the
more efficient your work will become.

This workshop will help you to:
  • ‘see’ the global picture when analysing your client’s posture
  • develop coherent single or multi session strategies for
resolving strain patterns, with particular reference to
common dysfunctions of the lower body
  • create a better balance for the lower body.
